Event Information
Love Hope Strength is proud to announce their newest fundraising event ‘Red Rocks Rocks’ taking place at the world famous Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre on Saturday, September 26.
Through a longstanding partnership with Red Rocks, Love Hope Strength has registered over 18,000 people to the international donor registry and found some 354 potentially life saving matches at the amphitheatre’s concert and Film on the Rocks events making Red Rocks the most ‘life saving’ concert venue in the world today.
All Love Hope Strength supporters are invited to come to Colorado for Red Rocks Rocks 2015 for an unforgettable day of hiking, music and remembrance to raise funds to support the campaign to save lives one concert at a time.
Red Rocks Rocks will kick off at 8:30 a.m. with registration on the Upper Terrace of the Amphitheatre featuring live music, morning coffee, and a warm up session to get everyone ready to hit the trails!
The hike will begin at 9:30 a.m. as hikers walk through the iconic amphitheatre itself and take in the far reaching views of the City of Denver rising above the stage in the distance.
Hikers will head down to the South Lot exit, then hike the Trading Post Trail, enjoying some breathtaking scenery and other unique views of the historic amphitheatre. A steady trek down the trail will lead hikers to a beautiful rest area set against a backdrop of rolling Colorado hillside where participants will enjoy refreshments and a chance to participate in a festival of remembrance followed by special acoustic performances from co-founder Mike Peters of The Alarm (who first appeared at Red Rocks on June 5, 1983 as special guest of U2 at their breakthrough ‘Under A Blood Red Sky’ concert), and other LHS supporting artists. Trekkers of a musical persuasion are wholeheartedly encouraged to bring their own instruments to be able to join in as song and chord sheets will be distributed so that everyone can become part of the Love Hope Strength finale!!
Next hikers will head up the beautiful Geologic Overlook Trail to complete the nearly four mile journey back to the Upper North parking lot where they’ll receive a commemorative hike finisher’s gift.
Those choosing to spend the day with LHS will continue back to the Upper Terrace for more outdoor festival style music performances, then down to the Rock Room to enjoy a catered lunch and refreshments (cash bar available), moving speeches by cancer survivors and LHS donors, and a rousing jam session on the scenic outdoor patio by Love Hope Strength supporting artists.
Please register online for an unforgettable day of hiking, music and saving lives!
And be sure to join LHS on Saturday night for a wrap up celebration party hosted by Hard Rock Cafe in Denver! Party starts at 7 p.m.
