AEG Live is excited to welcome back TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND to Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Saturday, June 13, 2015. Tedeschi Trucks Band returns to Red Rocks after sold out shows in 2013 with Grace Potter & The Nocturnals and 2014 with Gary Clark Jr. Keeping with tradition, the line-up for 2015 is extra special with Grammy-nominated Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, and Doyle Bramhall II.
In just four years, Tedeschi Trucks Band — the 11-member tour de force led by husband-wife duo Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi — has taken its hearty roots-rich musical mix to audiences across the globe and become a proven music powerhouse. Driven by Trucks’ signature slide-guitar sound and Tedeschi’s commanding soulful voice, Tedeschi Trucks Band delivers an electrifying blend of blues, soul, jazz, and rock that has fans and critics raving. “A deeply skilled groove machine” (Los Angeles Times) that “booms like a soul thunderclap” (Boston Herald). Tedeschi Trucks Band debuted big with its Grammy Award-winning Revelator, 2012’s dynamic live follow up, Everybody’s Talkin’ and continued that momentum in 2013 with Made Up Mind bolstering the group’s growing reputation as the preeminent leader in modern blues-rock. With guitarist Derek Trucks’ departure from The Allman Brothers Band now final, the band enters 2015 with full-time dedication allowing more time to write new songs together as an ensemble, many of which will be road-tested throughout the summer shows.
While other artists have ridden the waves of passing fads, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings have bypassed the hype-and-hit superhighway and taken a detour straight to the hearts of their listeners, delivering a visceral rhythm and soul sound to an ever-expanding fan base. The band has traveled the world for more than a decade, blowing minds with their explosive live performances and their raw, hand-crafted studio recordings. The prolific survivor that she is, Sharon Jones has fully recovered from a 2013 cancer diagnosis and bounced back with one biggest years of her career in 2014 capped off by a Grammy nomination for her album, Give the People What They Want.
